Current (Ice Works: Portraits and Animations)
Time is set in motion as ice cubes containing ribbons slowly melt. As time passes, the ribbons become free, untangling themselves from their temporary structure, being released from their confines. The melting sculptures are captured in orchestrated moments through photographs. This medium continues the ‘life’ of the sculptures beyond their short performative cycle. The sculptures become animated, re-composed and reconstituted within the boundary of a frame, directing one's focus on the fleeting moments of their evolution and ultimate decline.
