Slack > Slack (The Back Deck), 2020

The soundscape of my neighborhood falls in the background; it's a muddled composition. In the foreground, tucked away on the 2nd floor, is an organized grouping of threads made of cotton ply, which are anchored by white ceramic tiles, 2"x2". They slack, they respond to the elements... it was slightly windy that day. All the while, while activity is all around, they remain grounded, silent, steady.
